Joy, Founder of FMK, with Jamie Oliver at the BBC
At the heart of Food Mama’s Kitchen (FMK) is an inspiring woman whose passion, heritage, and expertise have turned a family dream into a thriving culinary brand—Joy, the founder and creative soul behind FMK.
Originally founded in Nigeria, Food Mama’s Kitchen began as a small, community-based service offering authentic, home-cooked Nigerian meals. Joy, armed with a Master’s degree in Food Business Management from the University of West London, set out to bridge the gap between traditional West African flavours and nutritious cooking. Her unique understanding of food—both as a cultural experience and a cornerstone of health—has shaped FMK’s signature approach: bold, wholesome, and unforgettable.
Today, FMK operates in the UK, catering to weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and family gatherings across the country. From Jollof rice to Pepper Soup, every dish tells a story—of heritage, hospitality, and home.
Joy’s journey has been marked by passion and perseverance. One of the most remarkable moments in her career was meeting the world-renowned chef Jamie Oliver at the BBC—a powerful recognition of her growing influence in the culinary space. That moment was more than a photo opportunity; it was a meeting of two food advocates dedicated to authenticity, health, and making food accessible and joyful.
Joy, the founder of FMK, is sharing Nigerian culture with the world.
